Your conversations shouldn't live in California.
They should live where you do: in Switzerland, under Swiss law, a short train ride from your hometown.

Full disclosure: we built most of Bünzli with Claude, which is a wonderful tool for engineers. But from day one we wanted the product itself to be properly Swiss end to end: a Swiss model, on a Swiss server, under Swiss law. The chats you'll have here about rent, health or life in the city deserve that.
Privacy
Privacy is the Swiss way.
Your chats are encrypted inside your browser before they ever leave it, and what leaves only travels as far as a server in Zürich.
The full request path, from your browser to the model and back. Chat history is AES-256 encrypted in your browser and never leaves it. Zero US infrastructure. Zero third-party telemetry.
Swiss model
Apertus 70B is an open-weight language model built by EPFL and ETH Zürich on fully public data. Made in Switzerland, readable by anyone.

Open from day one
Every line is public.
Read it, fork it, break it, improve it. Building in the open is simply how a tool made for the community should work.
No black boxes, no proprietary traps. If this project ever goes sideways, you can take the code and run it yourself.

Every Bünzli needs 50 fellow Bünzlis.
Fifty seats in the first round. We're looking for people who live in Zürich and actually want to shape this: use it daily, tell us what breaks, point out what's missing. (Yes, pedantically.)
